So this was our first year buying a half beef so we went and met with an awesome rancher in Centre Al we got to meet our cow big beautiful bull my wife named him binson pure black angus 1300 plus lbs and after doing a bunch of research, I found out that for half a 1300 pound cow should yield 225 to 250 lbs in your freezer so we committed then our cow was brought to Thompson’s meat processing. They told us 320 pounds hanging weight . We got about 120 pounds for our freezer, very disappointed. I feel like something shady is going on here Everywhere I research online says it should’ve been different than that we bought another deep freeze thinking our 5 ft.³ deep freeze wouldn’t hold all the research online you needed about 10 ft.³ for a half beef but come to find out it didn’t fill up even one small freezer we are very upset

I just went today to pick up our half a cow the hanging weight was 320 lb and we only received $125 lb of meat not even half of what we're supposed to get call them and they said my cow was fat and there was nothing they could do about it this is the worst place ever they stole our meat and I'm betting they're selling it on the side is completely outrageous I should have looked at the reviews beforehand cuz I seen that they done it before. I know other people that they're hanging weight was less than ours and because they went to a different processor they got over 200 lb of me back so yeah I do not go to Thompson's meat processing they are thieves.
After I posted this review warning people how they were and also posted it on Facebook someone that works there got on Facebook being rude and saying they never rip anyone off. But the truth came out when other people read it and posted it happened to them to. There have been over 10 to say the same thing I said.

I had purchased a beef from a local rancher and left a list of the cuts I wanted. This is no reflection on the rancher in any way. I was skeptical when I received 3 tri-tip roasts with my order. (There are only 2 on a cow). Today I thawed one out to put in my smoker and here I am with a chuck roast cut into a triangle. Clearly not a tri-tip. No problem if a person doesn't know a cut of meat. Big problem if a butcher doesn't know a cut and tries to make something up.

We had a half a cow processed there. When we picked up our order, they accidentally left a whole bag of meat out. They called a few weeks later and left a message telling me they had found it when they cleaned their freezer. It took multiple calls (no one answers/no voicemail) and two trips (we live fifty miles away) to get our meat. The first time we were told someone would meet us there and when we got there no one was there. So two extra trips, 200 miles and four hours of our time to correct a mistake they made. I wasn't irritated at first since mistakes happen, but after the person didn't meet us, I was irritated especially by the response I got when I finally got someone on the phone later..."Don't know what to tell you". When I finally picked up my meat, I was handed it without apology...actually without a single word said to me. Very unprofessional!

Went to see about getting steaks, they don’t sell the cuts I’m looking for, their hours are incorrect on google rolled to 3:15 she was flipping the sign ad I walked up. Find another local butcher that’s friendly.
