Stopped in on a recent trip to Alaska (June 2023) and wow, this place and Paul was awesome. Spent about 30min with me and my 2 sons telling us about knifes and how he came to do this. Awesome guy, awesome place and UNBELIEVABLE knifes. Picked up a beautiful knife for myself and my son is kicking himself for also not getting one...we will likely be calling him soon to send us another. Highly recommend stopping in if possible.

Paul Walsh is a gentleman, artisan, craftsman, expert knife maker, and great raconteur, in addition to having a wonderfully friendly and beautiful large Munsterlander dog. His shop is a joy to visit and his conversation is entertaining and knowledgeable. My husband Ted and I recently stopped in on our way home to Anchorage from a few days in Homer. Of course Ted had to add another one of Paul’s fine knives to add to his collection, most of which he gives away to friends. If you want a good one-of-a-kind bench made knife, see Paul, you only regret it if you don’t! A thing of beauty is a joy forever, and that old saying perfectly describes Paul’s craftsmanship, especially since his beautiful knives are so useful. You can see that Paul’s knives are well made when you look at them, but when you take them into your hand you KNOW that they are well made. Treat yourself, or someone you care for, we did and do and are always happy and well satisfied with our good fortune to be owners of Paul’s work.

As a regular customer, I keep thinking Paul will give me stock options! ? he is a craftsman and an artist. His knives are meant to be used and are beautiful and balanced. If you visit the peninsula of Alaska, you need to stop and take a look. Just a peek of what I’ve brought home. ❤️

Seriously, if you want a handmade blade with authentic, unique, durable, sharp, and one of a kind blade, Paul has what you want. American craftsmanship is deep in his roots, spend a little cash to get a one of a kind blade. Respect to American Craftsman.

We passed by heading to Homer and though, "Hmmm. That looks unusual and awfully isolated." Then we passed by heading back from Homer and decided to pull a quick u-turn and go back and see what this was about. If you are in the area, and PW is open, GO HERE! That is an order. Talk to Paul about his knife-making process. See his sword he made during the final round of competition. Seriously, we were here for almost two hours talking and our youngest metal-worker is planning how she can incorporate the information she picked up. We also walked out with a couple of sweet blades. This was one of our family's highlights for our Alaska trip.

First off, the knifes that are made by the owner are amazing and the knowledge of making them is vast. Nice guy to talk with, knows his stuff thru and thru. Carries his line of blades and some other commercial brand blades. From fillet knifes to pocket knifes. Stop in(if he is not out) and pickup one of his examples of hand made beauty! Glad to have stopped by.
