These are the gates Ray installed (which by the way, were not even close to the design we requested) at my house just about a year ago. Not only did they get a terrible powder coat… Ray used all non stainless hardware. He came back to my house 3 times to fix the install … all the posts were not concreted in .The guys a total hack job. My new gates were just installed and now I have to take him to court to get my money back after he refuses to answer messages or return calls .

-Firstly, this man received exactly the gates he requested, exactly as they were outlined on the contract, to minute detail.
He never remarked about any dissatisfaction with the design of the gates until over a year after he accepted and paid for
them.
-He made an initial complaint about the operation of the gates a few months after installation. He said that the gates were not sliding smoothly. We promptly went to check on the problem, and found that there were stones and dirt impairing the operation of the wheels on the track, as a result of sloppily-done yard work. We remedied the problem by sweeping the track clean.
-A legitimate concern, later voiced by the customer, was that we had used standard metal screws instead of the stainless steel that we normally utilize for the installation of some hardware. I don’t know why this occurred.
-Another legitimate concern involved two aluminum posts which had become somewhat loose and were no longer completely rigid, as they should have been.
-When I visited the site a second time, to check on the loose posts and lack of stainless steel screws, I noticed white discoloration on the gates, which the customer had not mentioned. I asked him if he knew the source of the problem (perhaps direct contact with well water). He said he did not.
The customer’s initial contact with me regarding the above concerns was extremely abusive, both verbally and on text. Despite this, I went to his house to size up the problems and correct them. He continues abusive conduct, but, above his screaming, I explained my plan.
I told him I would fabricate new posts and re-set them, in concrete. I would also replace all screws with stainless steel. And, finally, I would take the gates back to the powder coaters to have them refinished, and then I would reinstall them.
This was all to be done at no cost (and the powder coaters were gracious enough to say that they wouldn’t charge me, because the problem may have been the result of a bad batch of powder).
We did return, and did replace the two original posts.
The next step was to be the removal, refinishing and reinstallation of the gates, and replacement of the screws.
But the customer continued his loud and abusive conduct, to the point where it could no longer be overlooked. So I informed him that our business together had concluded and that I would have no more interaction with him.
I go out of my way to see that my customers are satisfied. That is why I rely mainly on return business and recommendations. But I will not be intimidated or harassed. If this person had conducted himself as a civil human being, all concerns would have been promptly corrected to any normal person’s complete satisfaction. But his unacceptable conduct precluded this eventuality.
