I was very pleased with how my sign came out. I had given an idea of what I wanted and the design they came up with was perfect. Anthony was great to work with and was professional and prompt. He also took great care ensuring that it would not get damaged during shipment. Overall a great experience, would definitely recommend for metal signs.

Anthony showed to be inept (at least in relation to pipe-based marine structures), disorganized and violent.

It was his “reasonable” pricing that made me choose him, but a perfect example of getting what you pay for. I still beat myself up for falling into this trap.

I hired Apex to build a solar arch and davit (dinghy hoist) structure for my 43’ sailboat.
I provided detailed engineering drawings and specification documents including a timeline for meeting my deadline. Anthony accepted the documentation and timeline but proceeded to get busy with other projects and neglect progress on my project.
He showed up last minute with a half built structure that had numerous mistakes. He clearly didn’t study the drawings and his lack of comments or questions should have been a red flag for me.
When offered more time to correct his mistakes, he said he had to move on to other projects and couldn’t “keep working on my project”. He gave excuses and tried to place the blame on me.
In the last installation day he reluctantly accepted to make some correction on the spot, forcing his very competent welders to work under pressure and staying late while doing subpar welds that look terrible and were made without venting holes, which weakens the weld by creating an air buble hole.
It was on that last stressful day that I noticed he used the wrong dimension pipe. Where 2” Schedule 40 pipe was specified he used 1.5” pipe. When I calmly confronted him on this mistake, he got very upset and threaten me with coming back the next day with a chain saw and cutting the structure off the boat if I didn't pay him the balance. I was intimidated by his violent response and that prevented me from negotiating a fair settlement.
My wife, who heard him yelling at me, worried about what he may be capable of and proceeded to pay him in full minus the ~13% discount he agreed to.

As a result of working with Apex I ended up with a structure that, while it serves the purpose of solar arch for now, it can’t safely lift my dinghy, it’s corroding quickly and looks terrible. It will need to be replaced with an identical structure using the originally specified 2” pipe and anodized plates that won’t corrode within 3 months.
I was also left with a terrible feeling of being ripped off and yelled at.
I live onboard full-time and have the structure to remind this experience daily.

Fantastic guy running the place. Super friendly and very helpful. Offers on the spot solutions for decent prices. He's very honest and trustworthy. Would highly recommend for anything that needs fabrication. I'm not sure what he's limited to, but I went on for an aluminum fabrication job.

I had a very rough experience with Anthony and his methods. I first used him to modify a mounting plate. He did a great job, welds we’re good and strong. However, he made a modification without asking me. I was still able to use it, but I had to fill the extra holes. When I mentioned it to him I got lots of excuses.
I then had him build my framing to hold my solar panels. During the process I recommended him to my boat neighbor to do similar work.
When they installed my frame there were several design flaws. To save reading let’s just say I did not agree with what he chose to do and he once again never cleared it with me. I didn’t know he was done with the design until he showed up at the boat with the frame. We disagreed again and he charged me to correct his errors.
My neighbor was an engineer and was making detailed drawings of his design so I figured he’d have a better experience. Anthony can weld good he just doesn’t listen or follow instructions.
When my neighbor got his frame installed it was all wrong and Anthony didn’t follow his design. He even got the wrong gauge pipe.
My neighbor (who is very non confrontational) tried to address it with Anthony and he became very argumentative and dismissive. Lots of details about this. Short response, I wouldn’t use APEX or recommend them ever again. Which is too bad for them, cause I had tons of business I could have sent him. He got 2 stars cause his work crew are great guys who work hard to fix his mistakes.

Apex welding and fabrication came highly recommended to me by a friend to help me with a fishing cart. After speaking with a few other local shops that were unwilling or unable to help with such a small job on such short notice, Apex was able to take care of my needs in one day. The job that they did was above and beyond what I was expecting and the price was more than fair. I would highly recommend them for all your metal fab needs. There is no job too big or small. Save yourself the time and trouble and call the guys at Apex!
