We had high expectations for the Hilton Marina Key West, and the resort itself definitely lived up to them. The location is stunning, the property is beautifully designed, and the restaurant right by the water offers a fantastic atmosphere.
Upon arrival, we were promised an upgrade and received a terrace suiteâwhich sounded great at first. Unfortunately, the room did not meet our expectations. The bathroom was extremely small, with an awkward layout where you practically had to step over the toilet to get into the shower. There were no towel racks or storage options. The room layout was also not ideal: the bed was positioned in such a way that you could only watch TV from the side, and there was no table and only one chairâmeaning only one person could sit comfortably in front of the TV.
Another major issue was the air conditioning. It was positioned so that the airflow blew directly onto the bed, making it either too hot or too drafty to sleep comfortably. By the next morning, we didnât feel well-rested at all.
Despite these drawbacks, one thing remains true: the property itself is beautiful, and the waterfront setting is truly special. If you value the surroundings and spend most of your time outdoors, you will enjoy your stay. However, the roomsâespecially in terms of comfort and functionalityâcould definitely use some improvement.
Overall Verdict: Stunning location, but the rooms need improvement.

We just love staying at Casa Marina. It has quickly become the only place we will stay in Key West! Patrick at the front desk is top notch!!! He is always friendly and takes care of everything to ensure we have a wonderful stay. Canât say enough good things about Patrick. Also, great service from Mike and Nicole the bartenders too. They are so personable and love taking with them. Way to go Casa Marina!!! Thanks for making our stay (and our birthdays) so memorable and enjoyable.

This hotel is referred to in some publications as Key Westâs âgrand dame,â which seems to be largely based on its size, its beach and the fact that it was formerly a Waldorf. Well, unless youâre traveling in a time machine, you are not going to experience Waldorf-level service. You probably wonât even experience 3-star service.||The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and if a beach is what youâre after, Casa Marina certainly has a great one. But thatâs about where the positives end.||We arrived on a rainy night after a longer than expected drive due to construction on US-1. There were no bell staff to help us with our luggage. When we got to the front desk, only one person was working (although he was friendly and. helpful), and there was a line to check in. We were already feeling a bit underwhelmed.||We had reserved a King room with a âKey West view.â This turned out to be a sad little room without even a closet and a view of the parking lot. We wound up upgrading to a beachfront suite which, while a vast improvement, was quite frankly a ripoff at what they charged us (and not what I wouldâve agreed to pay under any other circumstances). ||The concierge did not seem to have many good ideas for dinner, so we managed on our own. There was no service on the beach, so you couldnât order food or drinks. Housekeeping was slow to service the room and, on one occasion, skipped us altogether. ||There is a nice little shop that sells coffe, snacks and assorted other items. We loved the location and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. But I would not return if this remains a Hilton, nor would I recommend it.

Absolutely love this place. Had our wedding here years ago. Every time we come, they upgrade us. Some of the people still remember us from then. The bar is great. Food is very good. But you canât beat the atmosphere. Right on the beach plenty of space and amenities.

The private beach access was phenomenal! What a gorgeous hotel, we had a good experience with all aspects from housekeeping, to check in, to meals and drink at their beachside restaurant, Dorada. The pool staff was very attentive also, it was nice that they had separate pools for family and adults. We really enjoyed the hotel. It was a bit further of a walk than we calculated on the maps to Duval Street, but well worth the serenity of this resort!

An absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we walked in to the last moments before checkout. We were pampered and treated like royalty. The staff was amazing. We love that it was pet friendly and our pet was welcomed with open arms. The grounds and location cannot be beat. We will absolutely stay again. Kudos to Patrick at reception for making us feel so very welcomed every time we saw him

Disappointing Experience at Casa Marina Hilton, Key West ||||Our stay at Casa Marina Hilton in Key West was nothing short of frustrating, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a personal, high level of service, or indeed staff accountability at times.||||Check-In Issues & Poor Service ||We booked our ocean-view lanai room six months in advance, only to be told at check-in that it was unavailable âdue to renovations.â We were later told this was due to âa new booking systemâ. No prior notice, no apologyâjust a dismissive explanation from the manager, Eric, that we could âwalk to the left around the poolâ from the alternative room we were being given if we wanted to see the ocean. When we expressed our disappointment, his response was âWhat do you want me to do?â He initially offered to refund the Hilton points used towards the booking, which I declined, and he eventually offered a discount of âŹ150 per night, with the promise of reviewing alternative available rooms for us the next day. That never happened, he never approached us again. His manner was condescending and generally unhelpful throughout.||||Room & Location Disappointment ||The room we were given (881) was listed as a pool-view lanai, yet there was no pool view. Instead, we had to walk through a wedding and the weddingâs smoking area to reach our room. Because of the heavy general foot traffic and smokers gathered right outside, we couldnât open our blinds without a few smokers standing there looking in, or patio doors, without smoke coming inâcompletely defeating the purpose of a lanai. To make matters worse, a wedding photographer the following day at a different wedding instructed us not to use the door to our room corridor due to a photoshoot, without so much as a âpleaseâ or âthank youâ for the inconvenience. ||My husband went back to speak to the manager after we actually saw our room for the first time, which was dark and tired besides not being the type of room we had booked and in such a poor location. A more helpful night manager (?Rihanna) was understanding and offered a further discount. This additional discount was later queried when my husband went to pay and had to be renegotiated.||||Non-Stop Weddings & Corporate Events||Casa Marina seems to prioritize weddings and corporate bookings over individual guests. There loud weddings and corporate events every day/night, making the entire hotel feel more like a private event venue than a resort. ||||Dining Confusion & Lack of Communication||One evening, I ordered pizza for my children from the online kids menu (on the hotel website),and attempted to order a pizza for myself and my husband also, only to receive a phone call saying it wasnât available on the room service menu despite being on there. I ended up grabbing a sandwich from the hotel store instead. Yet, 10 minutes later, the very pizza I was told I couldnât have was delivered to our door. Only a small thing really, but indicative of the overall service standards. ||||Billing Issues & Unacceptable Credit Holds||The final insult was the hotel placing two separate holds on our credit card, for double the amount of the final bill â not a small sum - without informing us. After telling us it would ha half the amount, and cleared within a day of us checking out, four days later these funds were still frozen. When we called the hotel for assistance, they claimed they âcouldnât do anythingâ and that the hold would take seven business days to clear. To top it off, the representative ultimately hung up on my husband.||||Final Verdict: Avoid Casa Marina Hilton||Casa Marina Hilton is a beautiful, historic property in a great location, but⌠The hotel itself is past its prime, notably the guest rooms, and the level of guest service is abysmal, particularly in light of the cost. The managementâs dismissive attitude, lack of accountability, and prioritization of weddings and corporate guests make it an incredibly disappointing place to stay. Based on our experience and conversations with other guests, these issues are not isolated incidents. After this stay, we will actively avoid Hilton properties in the future. ||||â 1/5 â Would not recommend.

It is a nice place with some kinda good services but some of the house keeping folks weren't doing their jobs on time. We encountered someone who told us she'll bring us a towel but it took forever which made another house keeper to provide towels. Also their bathrooms are very tiny, you can't have enough space to even turnđ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
