Southwest Florida International Airport - Fort Myers, Florida

It was my first time flying to Fort Myers and coming to this airport. We landed on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty busy.

The airport is really huge however, its super navigation friendly. There are multiple gates and lines to check in/out.

The most important factor for any airport is how fast you get the luggage, which here it was pretty organized and fast.

There are multiple luggage belts and space around it for travellers to find and get their luggage pretty easily.

Officers were pretty professional and fast as well.

Washrooms were super clean and spacious.

There are multiple stores and cafes to use if you need to wait for a flight as well.

🚫This business has prices listed but charging more on the credit card receipts. Called them out on it and gave me a bs story. They said the price just increased a few minutesago , and they don't have control over it. This lady lied to me, saying she was not the manager and didn't work there, but she did. Scamming people at this place. Won't shop here on my trips through this airport!

The South West Regional Airport (RSW) near Fort Myers is one of the more pleasant airports we've had the opportunity to use.
It is an international airport, although more than 90% of the traffic is probably local. There are international connections only to/from Canada and one to Germany.
We'll fly from here with the major U.S. airlines, led by American Airlines, United and Delta, and Alaska Airlines, but also low-cost airlines like Southwest and Spirit. The route network is also impressive and covers almost the entire United States.
The airport is very compact, and the staff is pleasant and friendly.

Fort Meyer airport- although termed as international Airport, its a cosy and looks personal kind of Airport.
There is less to walk from one to another Concourse. Eating joints are available- not plenty but just enough.
But beware, if you have an hour or a couple of hours of time, there are long lines

Only experience with this airport is with an arrival/incoming flight. It's a smaller sized international airport that was very clean, organized, and easy to navigate through.

Flew in to this airport and this was uneventful, albeit our flight arrived at 2am.

Flying out was another story. This is the most inefficient airport I’ve flown through. Lines are long and take a while to get through. TSA lines are far longer than any large urban airport I’ve flown through and the gentleman who was directing us at the scanner was hoarding the bins and wouldn’t let us take them ourselves which would’ve sped things up. He had to direct which items went in the bins etc. they should have a sign that says remove shoes, take out laptops/tablets etc since all airports are different or have someone loudly letting people know. there were no garbages/recycle in the line or at the end of the tsa line.

There was only one bathroom in the concourse and this too had a long line.

We arrived almost 2 hours before our flight and our flight had been boarding for a while before we even made it to our gate.

Get to this airport early and plan to stand in long lines. Go to the bathroom before you get into the tsa lines if possible.

I recently had a fantastic experience at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). The airport is clean, well-organized, and efficiently managed, making travel a breeze. The staff is friendly and always ready to help, from check-in to security to baggage claim.

Overall, RSW provides a pleasant and stress-free travel experience. I highly recommend it for anyone traveling to or from the Southwest Florida area. I look forward to my next visit!
