I have used South Marion Meats for almost 20 years. They have always handled my animals expertly and with an eye for detail. I am VERY particular with how I like my venison processed and Gary and Sue always go above and beyond my expectations. Their prices are reasonable and the final product will not disappoint.

That was the most I've ever paid for the worst oxtail I've ever had. Tried calling, no answer. Poor quality and either gigantic pieces or tiny pieces. No medium sized. Nothing but fat. Might very had 4 bites of meat off of the biggest piece. Makes it about $1,000/lb. Pissed

One of the better butchers I've used for my cows. Cuts were clean, sealed and consistent. Cuts were packed and organized for easy transport. Price was competitive. I talked to a few different employees who handle the meat. They were ALL nice and knowledgeable, definitely a friendly smart crew working here. Other than the drive I am very satisfied and will continue to use this butcher.

USDA processing options are limited, but I won't be going back. They did not keep the head or organs as requested and discarded my product. They gave the wrong animal back to my customer. The manager (Gary) confirmed it was the wrong animal, and said he would talk to the owners about what they could do. When I inquired, it turns out that he did not talk to the owners to see what they would offer to make it right, because he didn't want them to know what happened. I've used this processor a few times in the past and it was OK, but not my first choice. I was disappointed in how this was handled, they lost my trust and I don't plan to return.

We took our steers to them and were very disatisfied with several things. 1) My husband was quoted 1 price, then the "price changed" when he went to pick up our meat. 2) We have found "bone fragments" in each package of hamburger! some are sharp. 3) The cuts are ridiculous!. 4) We believe we were shorted on our Beef! 5) Our customers who buys from us are unhappy with the processing as well. One of our customers stated the vaccum packed meat on some was not closed properly. We will NEVER use them again.

We have used this butcher for several years. It's hard to know if you're getting all of your meat so one has to assume if the company has been in business for a length of time, they must be ok. Well, apparently not. Recently we had a very nice 4H steer processed there. I have never seen such sloppy work! My steaks and chuck roasts are unevenly cut, there is plastic from opened bags sealed into my packages, the majority of my meat is ground, and I just pulled out four packages which were USDA labeled for another farm. What few tenderloin medallions I got were split in half and came out of their packages in pieces. Why? They have lost my business.

Beware. Had 2 different cows taken there. Both times came up short on how much i should have had once processed. Before i realized what was going on, i recommended a friend as well. Same issuse. Especially with the tenderloin. Wasn't even 2 pounds. Im a chef. Ive cleaned many tenderloins and know how much you should get. On one cow, i paid 3k and 600 to process. I needed all my weight back. Did not happen. We will never be back.

For the most part very pleased only two minor complaints I never got a finished total yield weight and I had asked for some cubed steak in my order and never received it but with that being said I believe I did receive all my beef I would use them again
