My unit functioned for 1 and 3 months on a renovated home. After picking up a refurbished unit, it worked for 10 minutes. They asked me to reset the unit, and this did not work. The only solution is to re-replace the unit again, but with plumbing/electrician labor costs, in the long run, it makes more sense to install a conventional system. In line with the other reviews, this tankless solution is not economically nor practically sensible.
Also, the office staff put me on hold/hung up on me about four times before someone gave me their final answer. Make sure that you ask for a name from the beginning of the phone call, it is not standard procedure for them to identify themselves.

This will be a long one… but I need you to read this.
Im a plumber by trade for the past 12 years and I bought a titan n-180 heater to install it in my mom’s house. I’ve installed many tankless heaters before, so I’m very confident in my abilities to install this one correctly.
After installing it and flushing the lines through, I turned the unit on and BOILING hot water was coming out of the faucet closest to the unit. I mean literally steaming hot water was coming out. I turned off the breakers to ensure I didn’t melt any seals in the faucet, double checked the electrical install was done properly. No issues there. When I turned the unit back on it wouldn’t heat at all anymore. Well, this company only offers customer support from 8:30-5 EST M-F. It was a Saturday when I put this heater in so I couldn’t even get ahold of them to try and figure out what was going on.
Fast forward to Monday, I get ahold of them during their normal business hours and I get help with diagnosing the unit… I’m told that there’s 2 reset buttons on the inside and maybe when the unit first turned on and was running hit it tripped something. At that point it was minutes before 5pm. I took off the top 2 screws of the unit, pressed the reset buttons and the unit came to life again. I was happy, told the rep thank you, and that was that! Well… the unit kept heating even after it went into standby mode. It’s only supposed to heat when water runs through it! This caused an excess of heat to build up in the unit and melt a plastic fitting I had installed to adapt from the copper running from the heater 3 feet away. Flooded my mom’s place.
I contacted them again asking to just get a refund… I’ve had too many issues already with this thing so I got a reputable name brand heater. ALL SALES ARE FINAL they tell me.
DO NOT BUY THIS HEATER UNLESS YOURE READY FOR EVERY HEADACHE.

Buyer beware. It took two trips , additional electrician fees to install and uninstall the heater twice , gas and time from work for them to fix my issue.They would not replace the defective heater at first. I bought the heater at a supply location in Hialeah five days after I noticed that the light went off and the heater stopped working so I called Niagara, they asked me to reset it so I did but the heater continue to give me issues so I took the heater back but they refused to give me a new one ,they calibrated the heater and a week after I brought it back because the heater stopped working completely .They finally replace it for a NEW one. What a shame and waste of money and time.

We recently purchased and installed a Titan tankless water heater at my mothers house...it did not work so we call the customer support number and they were very thorough with trouble shooting. It ended up that they sent us a new unit and we installed it and it works great! No trouble and heats the water very well! My mother loves the space we saved going this route instead of the usual tank heater.

Am very disappointed with this company's customer service.
I am a long-time customer (I have owned 3 of their tankless water heater over the last 20 years). One is installed in my home & the other is now installed in the back cottage of my home -where I work. A third tank I always keep as a replacement for when one goes out. I know their game about having to have to pay around $50 every time one stops working. This, for the refurbishing of the unit. I really don't mind this too much as I think the convenience of owning a Titan outweighs having to have to do that -but the units definitely must be made to always go out after a few years -because like clockwork they always go bad and have to be taken in to be "repaired". Nonetheless, I've always told people how generally I am happy with my Titans. The last time I had one go out & I brought it in for repair I then took it back home (w/the idea to install it in the cottage behind my home) but (since I don't really use hot water in the cottage) I never got the electrician to come & install it. Recently we updated the electricity in the cottage and I decided to go ahead and install that particular (supposedly repaired) Titan - to my surprise it did not work. The electrician then installed another unit (we purchased) and it's working perfectly. Therefore the issue must have been that that particular unit which I had paid Niagara industries $50 the last time to "repair" (yes it's been a while, but that doesn't matter it still SHOULD HAVE worked - I had it in its box sealed in a dry place, etc.) -was obviously NOT fixed. In other words that one that was "repaired" -which I paid $50 to have refurbished - basically they took my money - this, as it obviously was not repaired correctly.
They now say they can't fix it - because of not having the parts since it's an older unit & - when I then asked them for a refund of the $50 (which I had paid to them to have the product repaired and obviously it did not happen) or at least a $50 credit towards a new unit -both options they refused. I spoke to a certain Maria Perez who was obviously very confused saying they had "tested" the unit I brought in and that it worked -completely NOT true since the unit never left my hands. I asked to speak to the owner and she refused to let me speak with him. Shame on you Niagara industries -I recommend taking your business elsewhere since they obviously don't care about their long-time customers & "change the rules" of the "game" everytime you feel you are about to win. JEERS!

Works very well for entire house. What a difference from the old style monster size tank heater which flooded 2 rooms when it decided to die.
The size of a shoe box . Can you say space saver. My Titan Tankless water heater works even better than I expected. Great Product !

I bought this water heater SCR2 N120 for the price & Installation was easy and took less than a few hours. The water is very hot on the lowest setting and much hotter than my old one. So far seems to be a very good product and probably will last almost as long as my old 18 year one. I like the fact that you do not need a match to light it just hold the ignitor and it lit the pilot right away. I also found it is much quieter than my old one, but that is probably because there is no sediment built up in this one and hopefully with the magnesium anode rod there will be less sediment and no rust, as that was why I had to replace it, my old one had rusted through the bottom.

We installed Titan Tankless water heater in our small vacation home. There was a standard tank installed in the second bathroom which took up a lot of floor space. Now with this unit installed the room feels much more spacious. We are very pleased with the performance and the price. We did switch to low flow 1.5 gpm shower heads to maintain really hot showers. Works great!
