This place sucks. You take a number to be served but they just call people randomly based on what you want to get done. I sat there for an hour and watched people who came in after me get served first. Second they do state approved things like licenses and tags but only for locals. The state needs to correct this. If you issue state licenses you have to issue them for anyone in the state of Florida. Not just the residents of the county. I know people are lazy but come on, only doing keys locals is a joke. The state needs to correct this instead of letting them do whatever they want to there.

This has always been a convenient location especially if you spend 10 hours a day working in Monroe County and it is a challenge to get to another location during traditional business hours. Recently they changed their policy to only residents of the county however it should include "As long as you live or WORK for an employer with a business license in Monroe County you should be able to have access to this location".

Don’t waste your time. Even though our business services Monroe County, they won’t allow us to use the office for its convenience. They pick a choose who they want to service. The lady infront of me drove from Miami and they processed everything for her.

Dmv is for Florida resident s. But you go there and they don t want to have people from other county s - they refuse service to people from Dade or brower county.👎

Extremely disappointed.
What a difference a few months make. We visited the driver’s license office last February for license renewal and everything went well. So well, that we returned the following week to get an ID for my 13 year old daughter.
Again, everything went pretty good. Unfortunately, my daughter lost her ID card, so we wanted to get a duplicate ID for her and headed back to the same office.
My goodness! I could not believe the treatment we were getting. It was around 12:30 and the office was busy. My wife and daughter grabbed a number and were told approximately 30 minute wait. We were going to wait no matter what. We sat outside and waited. Once the 30 minutes went by, my wife and daughter went back to the office. A lady from the tax office started telling people to wait outside barking orders in such a condescending way, I was shocked. She then proceeded to tell my wife she could not walk in with my daughter and had to move away from the door. Needless to say, my daughter went inside and they skipped her turn. That was enough for me. I went inside the office and escorted my daughter out but not before letting them know how unprofessional, patronizing, and unkind they were. The lady said to get out of her office and I reminded her that the office was a public office and she was suppose to serve the public, not mistreat them.
Bottom line, they need employees who have some type of people skills. They definitely lacking in that department.

My wife and I visited the Tax Collectors Office yesterday. We didn't have an appointment (didn't know we could make one) and had a short 15 minute wait. Nancy took care of us. She was professional, quick, efficient and nicely social. Best experience I've ever had dealing with a bureaucrat!

30 min wait with no appointment. Anna Maria (I'm not sure as I could only see her email address on the back of the computer) was pleasant and very helpful. The number taking process was simple and organized.
