1st experience about a yr ago was life saving & very caring . Literally saved my life as I had gone septic from staff infection turned worse.
Not so good today. Went in early morning due to new infections that needed help . Not only were they uncaring but didn’t hear a word I tried to explain with about my condition or the help I truly needed . The ER Dr seemed to be offended by my explanation why I had to refuse their method of treating my problem instead hearing me & taking me seriously they simply released me .. no blood work no tests etc.. prescribed me useless medication as well as stuff I couldn’t take . Didn’t discuss any of the meds before prescribed & pointed me out the door. Only asked what I was allergic to & didn’t give the time of day for any discussion.
I left without any real proper care & to deal with my own infections. Beyond frustrating,discouraging & left to my own defenses .

My whole family have been struggling with my 83 year old mother has been hospitalized for 25 days and the doctors can't find where she is bleeding, they don't know if it's from the colon or the stomach on the 21st day they say they don't have the modern tools or equipment where they can see where my mother is bleeding and they have already done around 5 transfusions and we demand that they send her to another hospital where they do have specialist and the technology tools and they don't want to do it, they say that first they have to check in local hospitals and if they refuse they will expand their search to other hospitals, we researched in our part and checked with other hospitals in the Bay area and they told us that Marshall Hospital managed their transfer, but we don't understand what they are waiting for, my mother has already left the ICU area, and now they want to send her to a Nursing Home and they are saying that when she bleeds again they will take her back to the same hospital, my question is, do you think we are ignorant or that we don't realize their intentions ? The negligence is evident and Why not say abuse!!!! We are already on the 25th and no transfer to another hospital has
has been resolved ! The case manager is not doing anything.

I was taken there by ambulance. I was in excruciating pain in my abdominal area and right lower back. So much I was crying out in pain. After 3 hours of this pain, I was dry heaving. No one came to check in on me until I yelled out my door if I could get something for the pain. Finally a half hour later I was given some pain relief. The doctor on duty didn't even come in the room and talk to me. In passing, he popped his head in and told me I had a kidney stone. That they are releasing me, and I have prescriptions at my pharmacy to pick up. I did not feel well cared for and there wasn't any empathy at all. I'm still upset about the whole situation and being in constant excruciating pain for that long has traumatized me.

After 3yrs in total of no one being able to figure out my wife's medical problems or being put on a waiting list to just get an appointment 3 or 4 months in advance here in Reno NV. We were just visiting a sister in Placerville CA when my wife Mary had another bout of pneumonia. With in just a couple hours she was scheduled for hyatel hernia surgery. This surgeon ( Dr. McConnell) was outstanding in her understanding and performance of this procedure. (The Hernia had migrated up to a point behind the heart and lungs.) With robotic equipment at her hands she worked confidently and quickly to move the stomach to it's proper place. However there was two doctors that were in the main patient wing that were hesitant and unsure of what needed to be done. Too tough for them I guess. This ended up being a three week stay in the hospital. However between the several nurses who knew what they were doing and surgeon it was an amazing healing experience for my wife and I. My review is very good for Marshall hospital. Very poor for Renown hospital in Reno and even poorer for Banner health in Fallon Nv. If you live anywhere near the Nevada/California border run... do not walk... away from Nevada and drive the couple hrs.to Placerville you'll be much better off. Thank you Marshall staff!!!!

Had a MRI schedule , I live in Cameron Park, they called to confirm. I showed up in the CP imagining department on time and was told I was to be in Placerville. Not one time did they're scheduling personal inform me that detail. Needless to say I missed my scan and was told I could reschedule in late January. This scan would of been free for me since it was in December. Now since the new year with insurance it will cost me $500.00 Marshall get your act together.

So, I’ve had to come to this facility a bunch over the years for a number of reasons, but most recently I was admitted into the er with influenza A. I was coughing up blood and frankly I consider myself a pretty tuff dude, but I was absolutely broken with fever pains beyond description. Every single person there should consider themselves super heros. Day in day out children crying and dealing with lord knows what and they show up and do everything they can to help people. I’d hug everyone of em if I wasn’t so sick that day. I give em 20 out of ten a star review.

This place is a nightmare. The staff has no compassion. The patient advocate office is worse. They are advocates by title only and are really just there to say "sorry, not our fault". Responses I got when I filed grievances were something along these lines "The Doctors are not employees of Marshall, they just work here, so it's not our fault". "The mental health worker who traumatized you is an employee of El Dorado County, so it's not our fault." "The doctors said that your medical records are complete, even though they are missing two of your diagnoses. Not our fault." You get the idea.

There will be a canned response to this telling me to contact the patient advocate's office even though I already have, because they don't actually read these reviews (they don't really read your medical chart either).
