Paid to have mail temporarily forwarded, but they returned all mail to sender(s). When I found out after losing tons of mail for 2 months, from "senders" asking for a new address, they said someone had erroneously marked my box to "return mail." They stated they fixed the issue. Found out another month later this was still an issue. Clerk stated they were notifying "senders" that my address had been changed because "senders want to keep track of you." This is a temporary address where I am visiting my son - no one needed to have it. I paid to have my mail forwarded for a few months. I have no idea what mail has been lost other than those who have notified me. This is not the first issue. Last year they completely closed my box "by mistake" when another customer wanted to close their box. Numerous condo association payments were returned or lost or forwarded to the wrong person (I was treasurer of the board), and this was a complete nightmare. It is totally confusing how snowbirds can open and have forwarded mail to hundreds of boxes when they come for the winter, but long-term residents cannot have services correctly addressed, when these services are offered by the post office at an additional cost. You are better off flying home at a great expense to check your box than to request any special services by this location.

They refused to deliver my packages because I had “too many”. At one point I had a large pachkage that sat in the post office for 4 weeks. I returned it on Amazon. Then, they called and said they had it and that I could pick it up. I told them to please return it because I had ordered another one. They told me they would. Then, without my knowledge they had me pick up the old one (telling me it was the new one) and then delivered the new one to me the next day. I felt discriminated against because they refused to deliver my packages based on their weight and quantity. I also felt discriminated against because at one point I had a medical reason not to lift packages and they refused to help me. I also had to rent a car twice to pick up all the packages they refused to deliver. As a side note, the designated mail carrier drives a tiny jeep and I do believe she really doesn’t have room to carry the packages. I also feel discriminated against because she delivers packages to her friends on the route but can’t fit my packages. The real issue is that they mark the packages “delivered” inside the Amazon portal when I am going through huge amounts of effort to pick them up.

The Gulf Shores AL post office has lost 4 pieces of mail containing checks to pay 4 diiferent bills at 4 different times over a period of 2 months. We have had to put a stop payment on each of these checks. Try the Foley post office because the Gulf Shores post office is the only thing we had in common with all 4 of these checks not reaching there mailing address destination and no where to be found.

I’ve never had a better experience with a postal service location than at this one. Everyone is SO kind here, knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve shipped stuff for my small business, have a P.O. Box with no issues and always enjoy visiting which is not something people typically would say about a post office. 🙂 thanks to the awesome staff!

They do not deliver packages! I have had multiple Amazon packages that they hold at the post office. Reason? Customer requested hold, I have never requested my mail be held at the post office. My daughter ordered a dress, she never received it. She called the post office who stated it was returned to sender. Why Store never received the return, daughter couldn’t get her refund and store put a hold on daughter’s orders.

Terrible delivery service. The post office decided that my item was "too big to deliver," but they didn't *say* that--they said "mailbox too small." For an apartment mailbox. Well, ok, so I scan the QR code on the failed delivery slip, go through the process of attempting to reschedule, and I'm told that they can't deliver to my address.

So I happen to catch the mail carrier at the mailboxes, and I ask him about it, and he says his boss told him that items over a certain size can't be delivered, and I'd have to pick it up at the post office. That's odd to me--in 40 years, I've never had to pick up a package at the post office because it was "too large to deliver." I ask if it can just be left at my door, as they've done numerous times at this address in the past several months, and I'm told that they can't do that.

So it's 4:20pm at this point, so I ask the guy if I can pick it up at the post office right now, assuming that the post office closes at 5pm. He says oh of course, the post office closes at 5. His boss happens to be there with him, and she clarifies that it closes at 5:15. So I've got plenty of time.

So I drive down to the post office, and I attempt to open the door to the front office, but strangely enough, it's locked! Isn't that weird? That's weird.

Post office closes at 4:30. It's 4:35.

Thankfully, one of their super helpful workers is walking out the side door right then, almost bumps into me, so I quickly tell her, "Hey there, I'm supposed to pick up a package, is there..." and she cuts me off: "Oh they're done closed darlin'" and continues out the front door.

I'll be sure to specify UPS or FedEx delivery from now on, and if the only option from a vendor is to ship USPS, then I'll find another vendor who uses competent delivery services.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the Postmaster at this location. My 14 year old son is on vacation in Orange Beach this week with his 20 year old sister. He lost his glasses on Saturday. I sent him his "spare pair" on Monday and mistakenly put Gulf Shores address instead of Orange Beach. The Postmaster called me to tell me he had the box and if my son could come pick them up, he would not have to send them back since it was the wrong address. My kids are on their way now to get the glasses! Thank you so much, Sir!!! I appreciate you going above and beyond!!!
