I do not recommend brassworks high end radiators and heater cores. Placed order 9/29 with no update from the company product shipped to me 11/29. The heater core was cracked and mounting holes did not line up, not a shipper damage, but straight from the factor subpar and damaged. I told brassworks I need my truck on the road and can't wait another extended time or more with no communication to possibly receiver a damaged or sub par product. After sending the heater core back, I was only refunded a partial amount because I "changed my mind", not that the company that sent a damaged sub par product. Roll the dice on this company if you want to but I don't recommend wasting your time on a product that is 300% more cost than the average product on the market with less quality.

A customer provided parts "refurbished" by these folks and especially for the price the work seems incredibly shoddy and nothing more than a quick clean and spray job. Tons of corrosion and buildup inside, drain valves caked in paint and non-functional. Loose hardware, missing hardware, I'm shocked these people are still operating with all the similar reviews.

The owners responses to these reviews only solidify their complete lack of care towards customer service.

I contacted Brassworks to mention my 1973 Datsun 240Z heater core they produced was not made correctly. The pipes were set up for a later model. I got an email response from Lee from Brassworks stating I must have a special version or ordered the wrong heater core. I sent images showing the old heater core, what they shipped and images of a 1973 heater core from internet. A lady named Kathy sent me a follow up email a few days later. She apologized and requested that I send the old one and the incorrect heater core back to them. She also sent me a shipping label and I thought we are heading the right direction. In my response to Kathy I mentioned what was wrong with their heater core. This included the wrong piping angle and that the heater core they sent was too tight in the heater box. I also mentioned I wanted the original heater core returned. Two weeks or so I received the corrected version. The pipe was not the correct angle and I had to grind the pipe opening in the heater box. The heater core they resent was too tight (as previously mentioned in an email) and this was not corrected. I would have to hammer out the heater core to remove from the heater box. Lastly I did not receive the old heater core after asking twice and waiting 4 weeks. With my last follow up I told Kathy that I am hoping the heater core does not leak and I will be good. I also mentioned to her how frustrating this experience has been. I also asked her for the second time 12 days ago about the shipment of the old core. She said she would ship it. It has not arrived. Customer service and caring about doing things correctly is not what it used to be.

2002-2006 Wrangler Heater Core.

Does not produce any heat. Customer service will warranty if it’s leaking 😜

They don’t care that the heater core doesn’t work properly and produce heat. Save your money and time. Get a plastic $40 plastic heater core. Don’t spend $350 on garbage.

My air condition produced more heat than the brassworks heater core. The plastic $40 heater core is working perfectly.

Yes, I asked to warranty the heater core because your employee told me over the phone to say it’s leaking. They also mentioned there have been lots of complaints on this heatercore and that’s why you came out with the arctic version. (They even pointed me to a thread on Jeep forum.com)
You did offer to test and repair but didn’t consider all the time and labor involved.
Yes you are correct, I’ve been out on the road for over 2 years and have not had time to deal with this issue. Now that I got around to putting my cheapo heater core in. HEAT WORKS PERFECT 😍
I’m not sure what you’re smelling but I smell a bad product

My issue was pretty straightforward. I bought a water pump from these guys that was supposed to fit a LS Corvette, but one of the key features of the water pump is machined incorrectly, thus hampering the performance of the water pump. It's either a design or a quality control issue, but this pump will not work correctly on this car.

The company decided to accept a return, but now I have to foot the bill for the return shipping, which is unheard of when the product is not as described.

I added a picture of the OEM and the FlowKooler pump in the area in question. The pump is designed to flow past the thermostat and back through the engine until the thermostat opens, at which time it will seal off this bypass loop. On the OEM pump you can actually see where the thermostat has marked this surface.

On the OEM pump, you will see that this bypass hole is very tightly toleranced to the aluminum bar. This is the same on all OEM pumps. The FlowKooler pump has a hole that is far larger than the OEM pump, thus the thermostat would not properly seal the bypass loop and the water would continue to flow through the engine and bypass the radiator.

In short, the FlowKooler pump is NOT the same interface dimensions as the OEM pump as it is advertised.

Ordered a radiator here for my 1934 all original ford, the craftsmanship and fitment was second to none. I ordered a second radiator from one of their competitors and the brass works unit was significantly heavier and higher quality. The price was very competitive between the two. These guys rock.

I purchased a heater core June 18 2021 for a 1986 Toyota 4Runner. The website states this "The items you see listed are only a few of the ones we have made so if you don't see your year, make or model please send the pattern in and contact us via email so we know its coming."
The website listed the heater core and no one contacted me telling me they needed a core. I asked if COVID would delay it and they said yes so i didnt mind waiting, then they said they needed a core from me to send in but werent sure and would call me back to let me know. No one called me back to verify. I called a 3rd time and the nice lady that I talked to didnt know what was happening and assured me I was fine. When I contacted them for the 4th time regarding the status of my build August 16, a male Im assuming was the manager asked if I wanted to send in my core or get a refund. I asked for the refund and he just hung up on me, i got my refund 5 minutes later. He was just totally rude and his attitude was uncalled for. I apologize if youre stressed, do not take it out on me because the information youve provided me was incorrect.

I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and professionalism of the shop. I know there are a couple other bad reviews for the shop and I know that no one is perfect and in my dealings with Lee the owner and his office staff I personally felt they did a very good job and were there to help me the entire time. Maybe those other reviews are legitimate complaints however based on my dealings with the shop I think they would have done their very best to help those people out had these other negative reviewers given Brassworks the opportunity to do so. I had them build me a custom heater core for my car because Toyota had discontinued making these heater cores. I sent my broken unrepairable factory heater core to The brassworks including all necessary Hardware and they copied it precisely and flawlessly in design and fitment. For me fitment was key because I had about a 16th of an inch tolerance of movement and they built it perfect. The one they built me is made out of brass and copper and is far more durable than the aluminum one that Toyota made. I have installed the heater core on my car and checked it thoroughly and there are no leaks. I am impressed with the quality of this unit and I have a background in metal fabrication as well myself so I have an eye for Quality when it comes to these type of things. This particular build was also very difficult to do because of the flanges coming off the heater core and the way they matted up with the rest of the car. It was a very custom build and had to be extremely precise and Lee the owner of brasswerks made sure that everything was correct. Granted the original time estimate that he gave me for completion of the unit was far less time than it actually took to build it.... however that can be expected in any business. The cost of the unit actually ended up being less than he had originally quoted me and communication with him and his office staff went very smoothly throughout the whole process. Thank you for your time and professionalism in this Lee I greatly appreciate it
